Local Investment

We are committed to market engagement and will continue to research and understand what is available locally and within our district. We will engage with the local market making all tenders accessible to small medium enterprises and supporting these suppliers throughout the procurement process.

We will encourage and enable our commissioners to deliver local opportunities and understand how the local market can reciprocate.

We are developing an engagement plan within our procurement strategy. The aim of effective procurement is to achieve best value through planned and skilful procurement for goods, woks and services sought by us; to support and encourage a vibrant local supplier market; remove barriers to trade for small to medium sized enterprises and voluntary bodies and give appropriate consideration to Social Value.

The strategy is being delivered through targeted engagement events and training for businesses that will support future contract opportunities. Details of specific events and how to book on them will be posted on our website and promoted through our Eventbrite pages.

We also offer full support to businesses registering on our e-tendering portal as well as making all our tenders SME friendly. All small value contracts are issued to the market as an open request for quotation (RFQ) to avoid limiting our process to three suppliers. All of our opportunities are advertised on the Source East Midlands website and any contracts with a value exceeding £25k are also published to the government’s contracts finder website.

We also host a Meet the Buyer event. These take place approximately every 12 months. If you want to know more about Local Investment, please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. us.
