Young Voice
Our Youth Council (Young Voice) meets formally four to five times a year to discuss local issues, raise funds for local charities and contribute to projects impacting their local communities.
All secondary schools in the District (Tibshelf, Shirebrook, Bolsover, Frederick Gent, Heritage High and Stubbin Wood) elect six young people each to represent them as their Youth Councillors.
They produce the Young Voice Newspaper every year.

Our Youth Council has chosen Junction Arts (opens in a new window) as its Charity of the Year 2024-2025 which means we'll be doing all sorts of activities to raise funds in support of their excellent work in delivering engaging arts experiences within disadvantaged areas across the District. Junction Arts work hard to improve wellbeing, build confidence and skills, address inequality and inspire positive change in their work.
