Visit Bolsover Market

Bolsover is probably most famous for its Castle, standing high on the hill dominating the valley below.

But there is another important element to the town that actually pre-dates the current Castle, and that is being a Market Town. The town’s first market charter was granted by Henry III in 1225 and markets are still part of the town today.

The dulcet tones of the fruit and veg trader shouting trying to sell their wares may be a distant memory to some, but an upsurge of traditional and specialist markets such as Christmas and Artisan Markets show there is still an appetite for this type of shopping.

With everything from fruit and veg to flowers and biscuits and sweets to vapes, the market is steadily growing and attracting people.  Set on Cotton Street, the market compliments the wide range of independent shops and traders who occupy the town and with free parking all day, every day - there really is no excuse not to visit and wander around the market and town.

Bolsover Market is held every Tuesday and Friday and has a growing and loyal customer base and Bolsover TV spoke to some of the traders about the market.
