Resident hit with £100 fine for fly-tipping

A resident has paid a £100 fixed penalty notice (FPN) for leaving household waste next to a commercial bin at Shirebrook Marketplace.

Local businesses had made several reports of waste being fly-tipped next to their bins. Details of the incident including the offender's car registration were provided to us resulting in an investigation and the subsequent fixed penalty notice being issued.

Leaving waste out like this, only encourages further fly tipping and is unsightly. If you have excess or large household waste you can take it to one of the household waste recycling centres in Derbyshire. Our officers continually patrol the District ensuring it is kept clean and tidy and we encourage you to dispose of your waste properly, or risk receiving a FPN.
