We have produced a Draft Equality Plan and Objectives for 2023-2027 which outlines our approach to equalities, our workforce profile and our equality objectives.
We have also produced our second annual review of the Single Equality Scheme review 2019-23. This review document reflects the key achievements which we fulfilled in the past year. These include:
- Continuing the Bolsover Partnership’s flagship project, Raising Aspirations; a responsive approach to young people (in Years 6 to 11) identified as not being able to reach their potential for a variety of factors. This project has provided bespoke support addressing the individual needs of 763 beneficiaries during 2021
- Creating a Community Advisor role responsible for attending events throughout the District, sharing relevant information about how to access services while also promoting digital awareness and online services available
- Offering financial assistance in the form of a Rural Hardship Fund where Bolsover District helped promote accessibility to the Rural Action Derbyshire Fund providing one-off small grants of up £250 to people in rural areas who were suffering with hardship during the Covid-19 pandemic to improve the health and wellbeing of the rural community
- Implementing a video relay system to provide deaf customers’ access to a British Sign Language interpreter at our Contact Centres.
