Coaches and volunteers are the lifeblood of sport, whether it is nationally or at grass roots level. That's why we do everything we can to help people gain the relevant and necessary qualifications to make sure they can deliver organised, safe, fun, progressive and inclusive sessions to participants in our communities.

STEP 

Sports Training and Education Programme (STEP) is our annual programme with workshops usually three-hours in length and include Emergency Aid and Safeguarding and Protecting Children. We have the following courses available to book:

Safeguarding and Protecting Children

You will be able to identify and recognise good coaching, practice and the implications for your coaching, explore your values and feelings in relation to child abuse, and recognise their potential impact on your response, recognise and respond to possible signs of child abuse, take appropriate action if concerns about a child arise. Future available dates will be posted below.

Emergency Aid 

This course is suitable for people aged 16+ who are involved in sporting activities and may need to give basic first aid. The course content includes managing an incident, AED familiarisation, treatment of an unconscious casualty, resuscitation/CPR, shock, bleeding, sprains and strains and head injuries. Sports Leaders UK Awards and Qualifications

Members of our Physical Activity and Sports Development Team are qualified to tutor various Sports Leaders UK nationally recognised qualifications and awards. All of the awards and qualifications are practical - learners learn by doing rather than through written work. There are no exams - assessment is made upon a learner's ability to lead and demonstrate their leadership skills for a certain period of time, within a specific setting. Qualifications - Sports Leaders UK acts as an Awarding Organisation providing nationally recognised qualifications that equip people with leadership skills for life. These include:

• Level 1 Qualification in Sports Leadership 12+ Years

• Level 2 Qualification in Sports Leadership 13+ Years

• Level 2 Qualification in Community Sports Leadership 13+ Years
