The role of the Police and Crime Commissioner
The Police and Crime Commissioner is responsible for holding the Chief Constable and police force to account on the public's behalf, oversees how crime is tackled in their area and aims to make sure the police are providing a good service. The voting system
Each voter has one vote.
The total votes in Bolsover District are added together with the totals from each of the Derbyshire local authorities.
The Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner candidate who gets the most votes is elected. This system is called first past the post.
