Highways England will be carrying out essential vegetation management work on the A38 from the A50 interchange (Toyota junction) to the M1 junction 28 interchange.
During this work, they will be cutting the grass as well as pruning branches, trees and shrubs, along the A38 corridor. By carrying out this work, it will restore the degraded grassland and remove any obstructions and encroachments on the A38.
When will the work take place?
Work is due to start on Monday 10 January 2022 and they anticipate it will be completed by the end of April 2022. They will be working mainly overnight between 8pm and 6am. Measures will be taken to minimise noise which will include some daytime working. Please note that the planned work is subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
How will the work affect traffic?
To maintain a safe environment for our workforce and motorists, they will need to carry out this work in lane closures. All carriageways will be open, as usual, outside of our working hours.
How will the work affect businesses and residents?
They will ensure that access to businesses and residences is maintained wherever possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused and will do their very best to complete the work as quickly as possible, keeping disturbances and noise to a minimum.
