The jury in the case for Ken and Freda Walker who were attacked in their Langwith Junction home on 14 January 2022 has returned a verdict.
After just two hours and 15 minutes, they found Vasile Culea, (34) guilty of murdering Freda and guilty of causing Ken grievous bodily harm with intent. Sentencing will take place on Friday 28 October 2022 at Derby Crown Court.
Former Councillor and Honorary Alderman, Ken Walker and his wife Freda Walker were attacked whilst they were at their home. The Police were called to the property on Saturday 15 January 2022 morning and Freda was pronounced dead at the scene.
