During the recent cold snap, we answered and dealt with over 155 heating issues out of hours across the District.
Freezing pipes and boilers not working meant residents faced the possibility of going days without heating or hot water. But our Central Control staff and CAN Rangers sprang into action during evenings and weekends to answer residents calls for help and worked tirelessly to rectify the issues the cold weather bought.
All the residents were extremely grateful and very positive about the way we dealt with the situation.
One resident said, “I was really impressed with the service. The Council came out within the hour and got my heating back on.”
Another resident said “I was more than happy with the service from the Council. Bolsover District Council is the best council in the country. The Rangers were with me within twenty-minutes and they were polite and lovely.”
Cabinet Member for Community Safety, Councillor Clive Moesby said, “The cold weather bought with it many problems and it is certainly not any fun if you don’t have hot water or heating in minus temperatures.
“Our staff are second to none when it comes to dealing with emergencies like this as they won’t leave until the problem has been sorted and the positive comments we received go to show what a great job they did and how much they are appreciated.”
