We signed up to the County wide Derbyshire Armed Forces Community Covenant in 2012 which pledges our commitment and support to Armed Forces personnel residing in our district.
The Council has worked with the local Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and other partners to look at the provision, co-ordination and promotion of health services to current and veteran armed forces personnel, particularly on issues which have a direct impact upon mental health. This will help frontline officers signpost veterans to a range of available support and identify other opportunities for veterans which could be offered by departments.

The MOD has launched the new £10 million per annum Covenant Fund to support the armed forces community. Further details, including the funding priorities and when the fund is open for applications, can be found here.
Potential applicants are advised to read and understand the information in the relevant guidance notes to help you to decide if your project is eligible and meets the criteria. Funding is limited, so only the very best projects will be funded. This is an enduring fund, so there will be plenty of opportunity to apply in the coming months and years if your project is not quite ready yet. Information about how to apply to the fund is available here.
