The first show home on a new 200 home development in Shirebrook was launched this weekend at a special VIP event, by Council Leader, Cllr Steve Fritchley and Cllr Sandra Peake.

The new development, Meadow View, by leading UK home builder, Keepmoat Homes, features a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes which are set within the picturesque surroundings and close to Shirebrook town centre. The opening of the site’s first show home - a three bedroom ‘Fern’ style house – is a landmark moment for the development and follows work which has already started. Cllrs Steve Fritchley and Sandra Peake open the new Keepmoat showhome in Shirebrook

As part of this development Keepmoat Homes is engaging with local schools and education providers, such as Vision West Nottinghamshire College, by offering their construction students the opportunity to complete site based work experience placements.

Speaking at the event Shaun Fielding, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat Homes said, “At Keepmoat Homes we’re passionate about delivering long-term developments which have a tangible impact on the local community. We’re proud to be delivering much needed new homes in Shirebrook and it’s fantastic to have the Council here today to open our new show home.”

Bolsover District Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Sandra Peake said, “Shirebrook is a friendly and pleasant place to live and I am pleased that to see the show home is now open. Hopefully these new homes will attract people to come and move to Shirebrook, which in turn will bring wider benefits for our town. These will provide good quality modern family homes for people within Bolsover District and further afield and hopefully it won’t be long before we start to see the first residents moving in.”
