Tourism partnership
In an effort to promote Bolsover district as a tourist destination we are part of the Visit Peak District & Derbyshire Destination Management Partnership (DMP). The DMP is the official voice for tourism in the Peak District and Derbyshire and their remit is to help increase occupancy levels for quality accommodation providers and attract more customers to visitor attractions, venues, restaurants shops and events.
The partnership is funded by all the local authorities in the Peak District & Derbyshire area, through its tourism business members and through commercial sponsorship from a number of bodies and associations. The tourist board are now based at the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce at Chesterfield.
The Visit Peak District team is based in Buxton and comprises experienced tourism specialists and marketing experts from local authorities. The team is also supported by area tourism managers from around the county.
The DMP board, which meets six times yearly, is a highly proactive team which brings together a mix of people from both public and private sector interests in tourism.
