Swimright - Swimming Development Program

The high standards and effectiveness of our teaching staff ensures we are able to lead the way in learning people to swim. Beginner and improver sessions are available for children and adults.  The lessons are run over a 12-week period at Creswell Leisure Centre and are structured around the Amateur Swimming Association’s awards scheme.

For the first few weeks, participants will work on gaining confidence in the pool, later they will learn the basics of different strokes and as their skills and strokes develop they will progress through the class structure.

On week 8 participants will be assessed and tested on skills and distances.  We do not guarantee a badge after every course, as our primary objective is to teach 3 strokes with good technique.
By week 10 participants will need to re-register to automatically continue on to the next course.  After week 11, if they have not registered, the place will be offered to the next person on our waiting list.

Once registered, participants will be notified of the day and time of the next course, participants moving up to another class may find their day and time has changed.  Every effort will be made to accommodate specific preferences, however, due to limits on class size and pool time we may not always be able to meet these.

For those who show the desire, commitment and ability our coaches will refer young people into our development squad which will enable participants to reach even higher standards by refining technique and developing stamina.
