Street Sports
Street Sports is a diversionary sports programme delivered in target areas of the district at times when young people may otherwise be potentially causing antisocial behaviour.
The programme is aimed at young people aged between 12-19 years and all sessions are free of charge.
Sports such as football, cricket and rounders are delivered by fully qualified Community Sports Coaches, along with the opportunity to undertake leadership qualifications.
Anyone can take part, so why not join your local session:
- Glapwell - Every Monday at 7.00pm at Glapwell Football Club - Astro Turf Pitch (ATP)
- Tibshelf - Every Tuesday at 8.00pm at Tibshelf Community School - ATP
- Whaley Thorns - Every Wednesday at 7.00pm at Whaley Thorns - Multi Use Games Area (MUGA)/Cricket Club
- Shirebrook - Every Friday at 7.00pm at Kissingate Leisure Centre, Shirebrook
New Sessions commencing May 2012
- Creswell - starting Friday 4th May from 8.00-10.00pm at Model Village Recreation Ground
- Bolsover - starting Saturday 5th May from 8.00-10.00pm at Castle Leisure Park, Carr Vale, Bolsover
Street Sports is funded by Bolsover District Council, Derbyshire Police, Bolsover Community Safety Partnership and Bolsover Children’s and Young Peoples Services.
