Sport Relief Mile
A fun-filled day saw nearly three-hundred people enjoy the sunshine as they took part in Bolsover District Council’s Sport Relief Mile in Shirebrook on Sunday 25th March 2012.
Everyone from tiny tots being pushed around the course by their grandparents to the more serious runners took part and joined in the fun to complete the 1, 3 or 6 mile course. Despite the heat, hundreds more clapped and cheered the runners and walkers on many of whom even went the extra mile, donning fancy dress including a pantomime horse, a pirate and two women carried a skeleton around the course.
Organised by Bolsover District Council and supported by SportsDirect.com, the participants joined in a mass warm-up before being set off on their way around the picturesque trails of the former Shirebrook colliery site.
Participants and visitors also had the opportunity to take part in various sports activities, have a go on our KMX Karts, browse the various stalls and exhibitions and enjoy free freshly prepared fruit.
