Spireites Soccer Schools

Spireites Soccer Schools have been developed to enhance the best practice of Go Football, with the powerful brand of Chesterfield Football Club, including improved player pathways and professional player visits. Our Go Football programme will now be known as Spireites Soccer Schools, continuing to bring the enjoyment of the game and the continuous development of not only the childrens ability to play the game but also aid the development of their social skills.

UEFA licensed coaches run courses in 10 week blocks at soccer camps across the district throughout the year for girls and boys aged 5 to 11 years.  Our experienced staff ensure that the weekly one hour sessions are delivered in a fun yet challenging way and our strong links with Chesterfield FC means that our most promising players can graduate to the ‘Spireites’ Centre of Excellence or alternatively be referred to the many local FA Charter Standard accredited junior clubs operating in the area.

Courses run in 10 week blocks:

  • January - March
  • April - June
  • September - December

Cost: £30.00 for full course.

Go Football in Schools

Kicked off in September 2009, this 3 year initiative, funded by the Football Foundation will see each of our 26 Primary/Junior schools receive at least 10 hours of constructive football sessions delivered either after school or at lunch times. In addition each of the 5 Secondary schools within the district will receive 30 hours of football delivered sessions over the 3 years (10 hours per year).

Two of the ten sessions that are delivered will be themed around a healthy lifestyle agenda and will focus on healthy nutrition and exercise regimes, linking in with our Five/60 programme and the PCT’s Health 4 Life initiative.

In addition to this the project will activate local Charter Standard grass roots club volunteers to become involved  and working closely with Primary Link Teachers and School Sports Co-ordinators will engage the schools in working towards becoming an FA Focus accredited School providing teachers with coaching knowledge and developing school club links.

The programme will also see several FA courses run locally within the Bolsover district enabling local club volunteers to better access these courses and develop both them and their clubs’ development potential and ultimately help to raise standards and community football provision for all.
