Shirebrook masterplan

A Masterplan to guide the future development of Shirebrook Town Centre has been completed by independent consultants on our behalf. We adopted the Plan and it will help support our Local Development Framework.

The Masterplan identifies a clear vision and role for the town centre and a development strategy for how to get there. It aims to guide future regeneration work and attract new investment into the town.

We appointed Broadway Malyan, an international regeneration consultancy team, to move forward the longer-term strategic projects identified within the Shirebrook masterplan in order to progress the regeneration of the town centre.

The team will look at projects within the Market Place (including the Market Square itself), as well as Portland Road/King Edward Street – the new ‘High Street’ and will provide us with detailed information required in order to develop key projects and regenerate the town centre.

The information gathered will include detailed site investigations as well as making sure projects are financially viable. Broadway Malyan’s team includes Cushman and Wakefield, real estate advisors, to ensure the property market; both now and in the future, are taken in to account.

This project will ensure that schemes identified from the Masterplan can be delivered in Shirebrook, despite the current economic downturn, as we need to look beyond this and how Shirebrook can emerge as a contender for investment and developers both now and in the future.
