The Residential Layout and Design Supplementary Planning Guidance was adopted in 1998 as a material consideration in the determination of planning applications for all new residential development. Certain elements of the document are updated on an annual basis, with the latest review being carried out in 2005.

As this document supplements the policies of the Bolsover District Local Plan, it will remain a material consideration until it is withdrawn and superseded by new guidance or when the Local Plan saved period expires.
