What is Limestone Journeys?
Limestone Journeys is a Heritage Lottery Funded programme led by Creswell Crags with a host of Project partners. The project aims to celebrate, enhance, conserve and restore the distinctive landscape of the Derbyshire Magnesian Limestone area which is mostly located in Bolsover District. Pleasley Vale Outdoor Activity Centre is hosting a range of activities that provide opportunities to become involved in the Limestone Journeys project.
Bushcraft Workshops
Bushcraft activities promote a great understanding and awareness of the landscape and the resources that it provides, through activities such as shelter building, plant identification, tracking, tool making, exploring the environment and many more. For children age 7+, no parental supervision is required but parental consent must be provided.
Naturally Active
A series of family walking and cycling activities that promote a greater awareness of the landscape character of the area and provide participants new walking and cycling routes for them to explore at a later date. Adult or legal guardians must take part in the activities along with the children. For anyone age 7+.
Naturally Positive
A series of sessions for families that will promote a greater understanding and awareness of the limestone landscape using adventurous activities. Adult or legal guardians must take part in the activities along with the children. For anyone age 7+.
Limestone Warriors
Limestone Warriors provides a range of opportunities for young people to participate in a variety of adventurous activities and games to promote a greater understanding and awareness of the limestone landscape. Activities may include canoeing and climbing (weather permitting) and exploring the limestone landscape. For children age 7+, no parental supervision is required but parental consent must be provided.
