Playgrounds

We see playgrounds as a fundamental part of developing a child's health and well-being and critical to their development and learning. That's why we have adopted a Play Strategy which aims to provide high quality and diverse play areas for all children and young people to enjoy and play in a safe and secure environment.

We own and maintain the following 14 play areas across the district:

• Houfton Road Recreation Ground, Bolsover
• Laburnum Close, Bolsover
• Crich View , Bolsover
• New Bolsover Model Village, Bolsover
• Heritage Drive, Clowne
• King Street, Hodthorpe
• Shirebrook Town Park, Shirebrook
• Sherwood Drive, Model Village, Shirebrook
• Broadmeadows, South Normanton
• Staffa Drive, Tibshelf
• Poppy Gardens, Tibshelf
• Sough Road, South Normanton
• Bracken Ridge, Shirebrook
• Model Village, Creswell

These play areas are inspected for faults and routine maintenance every week. If you spot a dangerous play area, then please contact us straight away on 01246 242424 or submit an enquiry form and we will take steps to make sure it is made safe so we can undertake the necessary repairs.

All other playgrounds in the district will be managed by the parish or town council's.
