Major emergency incident
In the case of an emergency incident please dial 999 immediately.
As a local council we have experience in dealing with major emergencies affecting our local community and visitors.
The advent of the Civil Contingencies Act has confirmed the district councils role as a category 1 responder. As such we have a number of plans in place and carry out extensive planning in conjunction with many different partner agencies such as the county council, neighbouring councils, Environment Agency, utility companies, emeregency services and local communities.
Major Emergency Incidents
Incidents occur that due to their scale or nature, will require Local Authority support.
We will provide a vital link between the emergency services, county and other district councils and other agencies, in order to provide a co-ordinated response in the event of an emergency.
Major emergency incidents can occur in a number of ways, some of the more common being severe weather, fluvial flooding, transport accidents and industrial accidents.
You can keep up to date with the latest emergencies on the Derbyshire Prepared website.
