Landlord accreditation service
We have signed up to become partners to the East Midlands Landlord Accreditation Scheme (EMLAS).
The scheme is the first regional accreditation scheme, outside of London, to recognise the abilities of the landlord and not just the property standards.
EMLAS operates throughout the entire East Midlands. Any landlord who owns and lets residential property in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire or Rutland is eligible to join the Accreditation Scheme and therefore benefit from the rewards that the scheme provides. EMLAS works in partnership with Local Authorities to provide both landlords and tenants with up to date and relevant information and guidelines on all aspects of tenancy.
In addition to the provision of the latest information and the market advantage enjoyed by accredited landlords, EMLAS offers a wide variety of discounts on goods and services that will be of real benefit. EMLAS will also help you find the answers to any questions you may have, by combining our own knowledge and expertise with our vast range of contacts at a regional, national and governmental level.
This Accreditation Scheme is different to most other schemes operating in the Private Rented Sector as it concentrates on the management standards and knowledge of the landlord rather than property standards. Through professional development that enables landlords to recognise deficiencies in property or management standards, in much the same way as a local authority representative would, it is believed that landlords will be able to ensure that their properties comply with all relevant laws and guidelines, and they will be able to avoid the pitfalls that a lack of clear information can bring.
Any residential landlord in the region can now join the scheme with FREE membership for 3-years if you apply by 1 April 2011. For further information or to join the scheme please go to the EMLAS website.
You may also find useful information on the DASH website.
