Jog Derbyshire

Jog Derbyshire is a county wide project which aims to encourage people to become fitter and be more active by starting to jog on a regular basis with people of similar fitness levels.

Jog Derbyshire is an established network of community based jogging groups through which anyone who is new to jogging, or had not run for a long time can be guided through a series of gentle walking and jogging programmes led by a qualified Jog Leader.

How Can I Get Involved?

New Opportunities - Shirebrook Schools Jog Groups

Are you a parent/guardian?  Does your child/children attend an infant/primary school in Shirebrook/one of the surrounding villages?  Have some time after the morning school run?  If so, we have an opportunity just for you!

Emails have recently been sent to the Head Teachers of 6 local primary schools, encouraging parents/guardians to register their interest in a group operating from their school.  The group provides the perfect opportunity to meet up with other parents, take part in some gentle exercise and explore the local area, with all sessions being led by a qualified jog leader.  Don't worry if you have never jogged before or haven't for a long time, the emphasis is on fun and having a go.  What have you got to lose?

Keep an eye out for details of a group starting at your child's school and register your interest by giving your name, contact number, and what day/days are best for you to attend to the schools Head Teacher.  Only a hand full of individuals are needed to start a new group, so why not sign up today.  For further information or if you have any questions please contact your child's/children's school or ring Sports Development on 01246 593066.

Become a Jog Leader
