Up to 212 new homes are set to be built on land off Mooracre Lane in Bolsover after the Council approved planning permission.
The proposal is for a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced 2, 3 and 4 bed properties with associated garaging, parking and infrastructure. The layout of the development will also seek to retain a large central green area and other open spaces to ensure it is in keeping with the local countryside.
To help reduce the impact on the existing junctions a central through road from Mooracre Lane to Rotherham Road will be constructed and funding for other off site road improvements agreed.
Approximately 10 hectares, the site is mostly agricultural use surrounded by hedgerows and is subject to a former outline planning permission for housing and industrial use.
The site has been allocated for residential development in the Council’s Consltation Draft Local Plan as it is deemed to be a sustainable site that could attract further growth in the area.
Council also heard that the developers had agreed to a S106 agreement that would see:
- 19 affordable houses being developed,
- £53k contribution towards a play area,
- a contribution of £513k towards the provision of edcuation places,
- a £37k contribution to bus services, and
- £93k contribution towards road network provision.
Applicants Keepmoat Homes must start the work within three-years and no developmnt can take place until the pre-commencement elements such as archaeological fieldwork have been completed on site.
