How to make a payment
Council Tax is a daily charge. It is normally calculated for a full year from 1st April to 31st March and basically the amount payable is divided into ten monthly instalments from April to January.
If you become liable part way through the year although the amount you are billed for will be reduced the number of instalments will also be reduced, depending on how many payment months are remaining.
E.g, if you become liable from September, your Council Tax will be payable by 4 instalments from October to January. This will result in your instalments being higher than would normally be the case.
