Hardwick & Rowthorne Conservation Area

The Hardwick Conservation Area was originally designated in 1974. The conservation area was extended and renamed the Hardwick and Rowthorne Conservation Area in 1987.

At present, no Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan has been prepared for the Hardwick & Rowthorne Conservation Area.

Article 4 Direction

An Article 4 Direction for Rowthorne, Ault Hucknall and Stainsby Mill has been in place since June 1988. Following revisions to the national planning regulations, we made a new Article 4 Direction on the 19th August 2009 to continue and extend the controls over development in these parts of the conservation area.

The new Direction was approved by the Secretary of State on 11th February 2010 and came into force on 1st April 2010.
