Development Management Policies Development Plan Document (DPD)
The Development Management Policies Development Plan Document will include policies that will be used to control and manage development through the determination of planning and related applications.
The focus will be on a limited suite of policies which do not duplicate or repeat Government guidance. Instead the policies will address a limited range of issues not previously addressed by the Core Strategy. If necessary, at the same time as this document is adopted, the proposals map will also be revised in order to illustrate geographically the application of the policies in this document.
Once adopted, it will form part of the Local Development Framework.
How Can I Get Involved?
The timetable for community and stakeholder involvement in the preparation of this document is set out in the Local Development Scheme.
However, in light of the proposed national changes to the planning system, the timetable set out in our Local Development Scheme for preparing the Development Management Policies Development Plan Document has been updated. The key dates to note are:
- January 2013 - Preparation and consulting (start of the process)
- October 2013 - Publication of proposed document and further consultation
- February 2014 - Submission to Secretary of State
- July 2014 - Hearing
- December 2014 - Adoption
