Executive

The Executive (Cabinet) is made up of seven councillors who make most of the day to day political decisions and are responsible for guiding the Council in agreeing policy and making sure it achieves its aims and objectives.

Each of these councillors is given a portfolio which gives them specific responsibilities. The Executive consists of the following councillors:

• Councillor Eion Watts - Leader of the Council
• Councillor Alan Tomlinson - Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Regeneration
• Councillor Ann Syrett - Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion
• Councillor Dennis Kelly - Cabinet Member for the Environment
• Councillor Duncan McGregor - Cabinet Member for Corporate Efficiencies 
• Councillor Keith Bowman - Cabinet Member for Housing Management
• Councillor Brian Murray-Carr - Cabinet Member for Community Safety
