Kier celebrates opening of Millrise, Bolsover

Kier Partnership Homes held a special event on 7 June to celebrate the opening of Millrise – its new, exclusive homes development of just 13 stunning cottage-style two, three and four-bedroom homes at Bolsover.Pictured are representatives from the Council and Kier Homes handing over a cheque to Allan Jeffrey for the Help the Heroes fund at the new Millrise development

Millrise was formally opened by Councillor Keith Bowman from Bolsover District Council, and joining him to mark the occasion and cut the ribbon was Allan Jeffrey, a volunteer from Kier Partnership Home’s nominated charity, Help for Heroes (H4H)*. Kier presented Allan with a cheque for £1000 in support of H4H and for the charity collected additional donations from guests on the day.

The pretty cottage style of these homes makes them a perfect match for first-time buyers. Through FirstBuy, the government-supported scheme, where you pay from just 80% but own 100%, you can buy a new home at Millrise from only £97,596 (subject to status and qualifying conditions).

The Millrise homes are designed to a high specification; Kier sets a very high standard for build quality, as well as internal features. Each property benefits from high-specification kitchens complete with integrated dishwasher and fridge freezer. The bathrooms and en suites are also finished to a modern design, with quality chrome fittings. The showhome, which has been professionally interior designed in stylish greens and blues, exemplifies Kier’s commitment to a quality finish.

Kier Partnership Homes’ managing director, Chris King, said in his opening speech, “I’m very excited about Millrise, the first new homes that Kier Partnership Homes has designed at Bolsover. There is a pleasing amount of local interest in this development, as well as from other areas including Sheffield. Millrise is a small, but significant, part of our investment in the area, and lays the groundwork for our forthcoming schemes at nearby Langwith Junction and New Houghton.”

Cllr Keith Bowman, Cabinet Member for Housing Management at Bolsover District Council added, “This is a prime example of what happens when people work together and there has undoubtedly been a lot of hard work behind the scenes. Millrise is a superb development and the quality of these properties is excellent. With a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes, it will form a mixed community and that is what we are all about at Bolsover. We are extremely pleased that Kier is here and we will support them. I look forward to the homes selling and people seeing the benefits of what has been achieved here.”

Alan Jeffery concluded, “So far £137 million has been collected for Help for Heroes from the people of the UK. Our service boys and girls need every penny and the money goes out to them as soon as it comes in. The public have been amazing, with everyone chipping in. Please continue with your support so that we can do all we can to help our service personnel.”

Situated just off Quarry Road, only six miles from Chesterfield and eight from Mansfield, Bolsover is also close to the M1 Junction 29a, which offers easy road access to Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield. Chesterfield railway station, on the Midland mainline, provides services between Sheffield (14 minutes) and London St Pancras (less than two hours).

The Millrise marketing suite and show home are open Thursday to Monday, 10am – 5pm. For further information call 0845 652 2479 or visit the Millrise website.
