Ideas into Action

Big Lottery Fund today launch Ideas into Action, a pilot programme designed to see if, with small amounts of money we can support people to start working together on ideas that would benefit their whole community. We also want their ideas to make a difference now and in the future.

Lottery grants of between £100-£500 are available for the next six weeks for residents in Shirebrook. (These areas are the electoral wards of Shirebrook East, Shirebrook Langwith, Shirebrook North West, Shirebrook South East and Shirebrook South West. In order to make it easy for people to check their eligibility we have set up an online checker.)

The programme is for those who already know what they want to do and could put their idea into action if they had access to a small amount of money.

We are launching the programme with a delivery of leaflets to every eligible household and are working with partners in the local Community and Voluntary services to promote the programme. We would appreciate it if you are able to promote the programme among your contacts and constituents.

BIG would especially like to see applications from people who have not applied for grants before. The grants are available to small informal groups of at least three unrelated people living in the eligible areas.

It’s really easy to apply! All residents will have to do is call Big Lottery Fund on 0845 4 10 20 30 to make a telephone appointment to talk about their idea. The appointment will last about half an hour, giving them the chance to tell BIG exactly what your idea is and for them to gather all the information needed to make a decision.

For more details go to the Big Lottery fund website or call 0845 4 10 20 30. Alternatively you can contact the regional team on 0115 872 2950 or email enquiries.em@biglotteryfund.org.uk
