Refurbished Tibshelf Pharmacy opens

Residents in Tibshelf and the surrounding villages have seen their existing Co-operative Pharmacy fully refurbished meaning it now has a brand new look and offers a range of healthcare services and beauty advice.

Located on Waverly Street in Tibshelf, The Co-operative Pharmacy has undergone a five-week refurbishment and now includes a bright, more modern, spacious interior and two consultation rooms meaning the branch can offer additional services.

These include weight management, travel advice, a stop smoking clinic, flu jabs, cholesterol checks and medicine use reviews – where people can discuss their medication with a Pharmacist. The Pharmacy also offers a free local prescription delivery service to people who find it difficult to personally visit the Pharmacy.

Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Councillor Alan Tomlinson who officially opened the refurbished Pharmacy said, “This is a great facility and builds upon what The Co-operative has been doing for years -providing high quality healthcare services and advice to local communities. They have done a great job with the refurbishment and with all the extra services and advice they can offer I am positive it will be a great success and can only be beneficial for local residents.

“I come here for my own medicine and the staff are absolutely brilliant, always helpful and they have always got a smile for you. It is a local service, for local people and I would urge everyone to make use of its excellent facilities and services.”

The Pharmacy currently employs a team of 12 and prides itself on its customer service and quality healthcare and lifestyle advice.

Ankish Patel, Manager at The Co-operative Pharmacy, said, “The open day was a great success with more than 100 people visiting us.  Around 15 people had their cholesterol checked with one person needing to be referred to their GP. Feedback has been really positive from our customers regarding the layout and more spacious interior of the branch.”
