Core Strategy DPD
PLEASE NOTE: In recognition of the Government’s recent publication of the National Planning Policy Framework, work which was previously carried out under the banner of ‘Core Strategy’ or ‘Local Development Framework’ will now be taken forward under the title of ‘New Local Plan’.
What’s Happened Previously?
Consultation on Core Strategy: Revised Preferred Options
In developing our Core Strategy, we have considered a number of options and in April 2010 we published our Revised Preferred Options for the Core Strategy. These options were subject to an Interim Sustainability Appraisal which assessed the future economic, environmental and social implications of the Revised Preferred Options.
To read these documents, go to:

Interim Sustainability Appraisal report
We also consulted stakeholders and the wider public on these Revised Preferred Options in April and May 2010 and all of the representations made were considered by the Planning Committee at its meeting in November 2010.
To read the report and our response to the representations received, go to:

Responses to representations
Please note that the responses indicate our intended approach to the issues raised. However, we reserve the right to change this approach should new information or government guidance emerge which needs to be taken into consideration.
Consultation on Bolsover North Strategic Allocation design principles
Following this stage, we also carried out a local community based consultation exercise in February and March 2011 in respect of possible design principles for the Bolsover North Strategic Allocation. All of the representations made were considered by the Planning Committee at its meeting in June 2011.
To look at the leaflet prepared for the consultation exercise and to read the report and our response to the representations received, go to:

Consultation on revised District Housing Target
Furthermore, in view of the proposed national changes to the planning system, we asked key organisations for their views on a revised District Housing Target. Based on the outcome of this exercise, the Planning Committee at its meeting in September 2011 endorsed the use of a minimum housing requirement target of 300 dwellings a year as the basis upon which to make changes to our emerging Core Strategy once the Coalition Government makes the orders to revoke the existing Regional Plans.
To read the committee report and the discussion paper, go to:

The representations made during these exercises, together with the Evidence Base and national planning policy, are being used to inform the preparation of the document that will be published in June 2012.
