To be eligible employees must be over 19 years old and have a contract of employment for a minimum of eight hours and for which they are paid, and employers must have no more than 250 employees and be located in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Apprenticeship Grants for Employers (AGE 16 to 24) – the programme has already helped thousands of employers to grow their business by employing an apprentice but time is running out, as the programme is closing at the end of December 2014.
The Grant for Employers aims to support businesses who would not be in a position to do so, to recruit individuals aged 16 to 24 into employment through the Apprenticeship programme. The National Apprenticeship Service will provide AGE 16 – 24 to eligible employers in respect of qualifying apprentices, with an individual value of £1.500 (upto a maximum of ten grants in total for the lifetime of the programme). To be eligible employers must have less than 1,000 employees, who are new to apprenticeships or haven’t enrolled a new recruit or existing employee onto an apprenticeship programme in the previous 12 months.
