Bolsover District Sports Partnership
Community Sports Network
Community Sport Networks (CSN’s) provide local co-ordination between all agencies that have an interest or involvement in increasing participation in sport and active recreation, particularly for ages 16 and above
Within the county each CSN is working towards:
- Increasing by 1% year on year, the number of over 16’s who engage in at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity level of sport or active recreation at least 3 times per week, with particular emphasis on under represented groups
- Increasing the number of over 16’s who volunteer in sport for at least 1 hour per week
The CSN in Bolsover is called the Bolsover District Sports Partnership and is a collaboration of voluntary, community and statutory sector organisations that have an interest in or responsibility for the development of sport and physical activity within Bolsover district and includes the following partners:
- Bolsover District Council
- Derbyshire Sport
- Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust
- Bolsover and District School Sport Partnership
- Derbyshire County Council
- Sporting Futures
- Bolsover Countryside Partnership
- Bolsover Local Strategic Partnership
- Bolsover District Community Sports Forum
- Community Voluntary Partners
Together, these partners have produced a strategy and action plan to increase the quality and quantity of sport and physical activity provision across the district.
The vision of the Partnership is to ‘make sport a part of everyone’s’ life’.
Whether it’s tens of thousands watching the FA Cup final, two locals playing badminton in a village hall or a family taking a weekend hike in the ‘Peaks,’ sport and physical activity plays a central part in British Life. It provides fun, excitement, personal challenge, identity and prestige as well as significant social, economic and health benefits.
Sport and physical activity gets people out of their homes, off the streets and into places where they can meet new people, make new friends and take advantage of new opportunities.
Sport and physical activity is dynamic and wide ranging in its impact, from big business with huge media interest and entertainment value, to the essence of everyday life for thousands of volunteers, coaches and club officials.
It is for these reasons that Bolsover District Sports Partnership is committed to ensuring that sport touches the lives of as many people across our district as it is possible.
