Action Groups
We have set up action groups to deliver our priorities, each one is made up of members from those organisations which can help in reducing a particular problem. Much of the Partnership’s achievements is down to the work which takes place in the action groups. Each action group works to an action plan that is developed annually from the Partnership Plan, these have specific targets and outcomes attached to them which are closely monitored by the Performance Management Group.
Acquisitive Crime Action Group
This group is committed to reducing the amount of domestic burglaries and theft of/from vehicles. This will involve educating householders and car owners in crime prevention and making it more difficult for houses to be burgled and cars to be stolen or broken into.
Violent Crime Action Group
For violent crime we have split the theme into two action groups to address domestic abuse and alcohol related violence. We have also secured funding for a dedicated Domestic Violence Officer who will be working in hotspot areas throughout the district. For alcohol related violence a separate Violence, Alcohol Harm and Licensing Group has been established.
Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) Action Group
This Group has also been split into two teams, an operational group that looks at individual persistent ASB cases; the other group will look at strategic preventative measures. The strategic group will be looking at wider environmental issues of ASB and addressing the ASB elements of the Partnership Plan. A separate Deliberate Fires Group has also been established to address problems associated with deliberate fires.
